What inspired you to become a fitness professional?
I was a competitive swimmer throughout my childhood and into college. At an early age I began battling injuries that I later discovered were preventable through proper strength training and conditioning. I wanted to pass along this knowledge and help others prevent potential injuries while reaching their fitness goals.
What is your fitness routine?
I lift weights 3 times a week with my workout partner. I like to sweat on my off days as well, so we do anything from paddle boarding to killing the stair master 3 days of the week.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I love the one-on-one journey. Discovering what really motivates a person and helping them get through the obstacles and out the other side. It becomes a team effort and seeing progress makes me just as excited as my client who is meeting his or her goals.
What is the one exercise no client of yours can avoid?
Bird-dogs! I know all my clients who read this will laugh instantly.
What activities do you like to do outside of the gym?
I like to stay active: skiing, paddle boarding, biking to key Biscayne. However, I am a pretty laid back person outside of the gym. Some days the best evening consists of sitting on my couch and relaxing with my friends to music and conversation.
What’s a fun or interesting fact about you that most people don’t know about you?
I secretly think I would make a great back-up singer! Fun dance moves and all.
I think my clients would answer this: “Activate the glutes!”
